We
at AED have adopted the vision to empower forgotten children
everywhere through love and compassion. Today there are over
7, 500 orphaned children in refugee camps waiting for a family
to care for them. With
your partnership we are prepared to reach 1,000 of these forgotten
children within the next 6 months. Together, we can change the
lives of these little ones languishing in refugee camps throughout
Sri Lanka.
With
our busy lives, there is a great temptation to look away from
the incredible needs. Children are special, and should never
be forgotten, every child deserves hope, the chance to dream.
Please, help us reach one thousand of these little ones. The
children who remain in these refugee camps are in danger and
the time for us to act is now!

Your
partnership with AED makes an incredible difference in the
life of a child. For $30.00 per month you can sponsor one
of these children, providing a clean healthy living environment
including a balanced diet, education, health care, and where
love is demonstrated and safety provided daily. You can make
an incredible difference as you partner with AED, reaching
out to the forgotten children of Asia with love and compassion.
Please, help us make a difference today!

What
is an Asiana Education Development child sponsor?
An
Asiana Education Development child sponsor is a special, caring
fried to a child living in marginalized conditions in South
Asia, an individual who can become uniquely involved in that
child's life by providing them with an education.
What
Information will I receive regarding my sponsored child?
When
you sponsor a child, you will receive a profile and picture
of your child. Every year you will receive:
-
Three letters from your sponsored child
- A progress report with an updated photo of your sponsored
child
- Occasional mailings from Asiana Education Development to
keep you updated on our work in South Asia.
How
does my sponsored child benefit from involvement in AED's sponsorship
program?
For
children growing up in poverty, it is absolutely essential that
their basic needs are met. Your sponsored child will receive
the following benefits:
-
Education, books and uniforms
- Medical attention
- Daily nutritional meals
- A safe environment ad the opportunity for a new life
How
long does my sponsorship continue?
You
have the opportunity to continue sponsoring your child throughout
the duration of their stay in an AED school. Children are generally
sponsored an average of 5 to 6 years. The length of their enrollment
depends on the cultural expectations of each child's community.
What
happens if I must discontinue my child sponsorship?

may choose to discontinue your sponsorship at any time - we
understand that sponsors' circumstances sometimes change. If
you must end your sponsorship, please contact Asiana Education
Development immediately so that another sponsor can be found
for your sponsored child.

How
much is my monthly commitment to child sponsorship?
AED's
current rate of sponsorship is $30 a month.
How
should I pay for my monthly sponsorship commitment?
Many
of our sponsors enjoy the convenience of AED's automatic contribution
program for giving by credit card or a debit to your bank account.
Clickhere
or contact our office at (800) 725-8098 to sign up. Asiana Education
Development also accepts checks, cash and money orders.
Will
I receive a receipt from Asiana Education Development?
All
child sponsorship gifts are tax-deductible and you will receive
monthly statements and one income tax receipt at the end of
the year.

How
can I communicate with my sponsored child?
All
communication to sponsored children must be sent via our Asiana
Education Development Sponsorship Office. For your privacy and
the protection of our sponsored children no, addresses are communicated
in either direction. Letters will be translated in Sri Lanka
for your sponsored child. You may write a card or a letter and
forward it to us or send your letter via email to info@asianaed.org.
If
I am involved in a group sponsorship, can we all write to our
sponsored child?
We
suggest that you appoint one individual to be the group's correspondent.
It is much simpler for a child to relate to one person, rather
than a group.

In
our child sponsorship program, we encourage sponsors to recognize
special occasions in the lives of their sponsored children with
greeting cards and small gifts! When sending gifts, please keep
the following guidance in mind:
-
All gifts must be flat and fit comfortably inside a 9 1/2"
x 4 1/8" (#10) envelop.
-
The thickness of the envelope must not exceed 1"
-
Please write your sponsored child's full name and identification
number on the envelope.
-
Cards and gifts for special occasions must be received at least
six weeks prior to the occasion to ensure on-time delivery.
Our preferred alternative is to send $15.00 for your sponsored
children. This enables our workers in Sri Lanka to purchase
gifts that are suitable for them and eliminates customs issues
and postage costs.
